The worldwide association of writers PEN International marked the the 31st Annual Day of the Imprisoned Writer last Nov. 15. It was a day to recogniZe and support writers at risk, and for the last 31 years, the group has commemorated the day to raise awareness on the unjust imprisonment and persecution of writers around the world.

A militant lawmaker urged Facebook (FB) users to end electronic violence against women (e-VAW) by adding “-Scandal” to their last name and to change their cover photos. The move was part of the women’s group Gabriela’s “Bury the Past” campaign.
